When deciding who would be our next "Provider of the Quarter," our clinical leaders felt strongly that Delaware native, Rebecca Gum, NP, was more than deserving.
"She is a truly authentic person and a joy to be around. Just ask her MA and RT colleagues, the nursing students she mentors or the many ChoiceOne new teammates she helps to train, and you'll hear a similar answer: Amazing, wonderful and awesome are just a few of the superlatives that we regularly hear," says Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nicholas Bower.
After attending both the University of Delaware and Clemson University for her undergraduate degree in Nursing, Rebecca obtained her masters of Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Wilmington. She moved to Maryland after spending some time as a travel nurse; her favorite travel position was St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Rebecca started her career in Maryland with University of Maryland Health System in one of the hospitals downtown. Looking for a change of pace, she found ChoiceOne, joining the organization in 2018.
When asked why she loves working for ChoiceOne, Rebecca said "The best part of being a ChoiceOne provider is our ability to work autonomously while still having support from our Medical Director and other providers. I just love the team here."
Working at some of our most bustling centers, Rebecca has made a difference in many patients' lives. We appreciate all of her hard work and dedication. Join us in congratulating Rebecca as the ChoiceOne provider of the quarter.
