Kerry Davis has had many titles here at ChoiceOne Urgent Care (ChoiceOne). She joined the organization in January of 2018, as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Kerry then moved on as the Fallston Center Lead, and now serves additionally as the new Patient Services Manager. The entire leadership team could not be more excited that she has taken on this additional role.
“Kerry is a go getter with a strong work ethic,” says Tara Faulkner. “She is always willing to help when needed and jumps in over and over again. She is the ‘queen of pep talks’ and genuinely adds value to the lives of those people she encounters without ever fully being aware that she does this.”
Kerry is a Maryland native, born and raised here in Baltimore and has family spread all throughout the greater Baltimore area. She graduated from Edmonson High School, attended the Community College of Baltimore County for her General Studies degree plus RMA certification. Kerry knew she wanted to grow beyond a medical assistant to fulfilling her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She sees her RMA role as a stepping stone to achieving this goal.
Previous to working with ChoiceOne, Kerry worked at the largest federally qualified health center (FQHC), which had all specialties including primary care. Coming from this sort of environment, Kerry stated that she loves the change of pace and the immediate return you receive when helping an urgent care patient. She loves being able to make a direct impact right away in the urgent care setting.
Kerry’s newest RMA role is more “behind the scenes,” where she is learning to further facilitate a patient’s care through her new responsibilities. She said, “things are happening behind the scenes and you need someone who wants to make sure the patient is getting the best services you can before they even arrive.” Even though she has taken on these additional tasks, she wanted to make sure everyone knew that Fallston is her baby! Kerry takes great pride in her center and her team.
Kerry juggles many task and responsibilities not only here at work, but also at home. She is a mother to three daughters (ages 18, 14, 10), and an eight-week old puppy named Pepper! As if that was not enough to manage, Kerry will be starting nursing school this fall at Harford County Community College. She plans to earn her Associates of Science for Nursing by December of 2021. Kerry knows her hands on experience at ChoiceOne will serve her well during her virtual simulations, and is ever so excited by the opportunity.
We are lucky to have her as a part of the ChoiceOne team.
Thank you for all you do Kerry!
