Kristin Morris, our newest Learning and Development Specialist (L&D), and driven asset to the team, obtained her CNA license at the early and ambitious age of 16 through a high school program, working multiple jobs while attending school. Kristin then obtained a General Studies degree from Community College of Baltimore City (CCBC) in 2019. Now, she is currently enrolled at the University of Baltimore in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Human Resources. A hard worker is one way to describe Kristin!
Our newest L&D is a native Maryland-er. Kristin was born here in Baltimore before moving with her family to Virginia for 20 years. Kristin returned approximately six years ago for a fresh start and to be closer to her Mother, who had recently transplanted back to Aberdeen, Maryland. Kristin has since been living in her old family home, which was built in 1925! Slowly, she has been renovating the home and refurbishing its bones. Kristin is definitely a project person.
Kristin comes to us after working clinically for Patient First. She was in search of an opportunity that allows her the ability to assist with clinical training and administrative training while focusing on teaching teammates how to deliver a superior patient care experience. Kristin commented that, “training is the basis of any company. If your employees feel confident as soon as they start they will always succeed.”
In just a few short weeks, Kristin has already made a difference. She began working with our team on December 28th, and has hit the ground running. “Kristin is eager to learn all that she can and has done a great job doing just that to date. I am excited to see where she takes this role and expands it to meet our needs. She has already proven to be a great addition to the team. I am confident that she will continue to be an asset across the organization” said Tara Faulkner, Manager of Operations and previous Learning & Development Specialist.
Thus far, Kristin relayed that she is loving the staff and comradery in getting to know the new teammates. She looks forward to contributing to elevating the current training program, ensuring the efficiency of the program for new teammates, and further developing tools that ensure new hires feel confident before ever working a clinical shift. Her goal is to revitalize our OneHeart values and bring life into our training programs with new tools and fun ways to learn.
On the more personal side, Kristin is a proud mom to three awesome fish! They are considered glow fish and the blue light at the top of the tank illuminates their neon colors. Their names are Dolly, Loretta and June. If you don’t know, those names are all legendary female country artists, making Kristin a country girl at heart. She enjoys country music and is currently favoring Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton. The next time you see her in your center, please make sure to say hello!
Welcome to the team, Kristin!
