Tara Faulkner has taken on a new role as the Learning and Development Specialist! She is rising again within the ChoiceOne family.
Tara has been with ChoiceOne since May of 2017, and has served the company in a variety of capacities. Tara joined as a Medical Assistant, then promoted to the Regional Operations Admin before becoming the Center Lead for our Easton location. Although Tara is rising again, she has not traded in her scrubs – she is moving into a training role where she will be orienting the new teammates and providers as they join ChoiceOne.
Those of you that have worked with Tara over the past few years probably know she is a mother to three amazing boys, Landyn (age 12), Cadyn (age 12) and Grayson (age 5). What you may not know, is that her favorite activities include fishing with her sons and going for a peaceful run by herself.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Tara moved to Delaware and graduated from Smyrna High School. She then moved to Maryland in 2004, obtained her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland in Business Management and a minor in Human Resources Management. After much debate, she went back to college to become a Medical Assistant through Chesapeake College.
Tara states that she is always looking for opportunities to grow, enjoys new challenges and loves meeting new people. When asked about her new role, she said, “I think education is important and it is something you should continue throughout your lifetime, through your career, school, or method of your choice.” It may be obvious now as to why Tara was the perfect fit for the Learning & Development Specialist position between her educational background and in-center experience it takes for training our future ChoiceOne teammates.
When asked what she was most looking forward to, Tara stated, “I am most looking forward to being able to teach people and be a part of their growth with ChoiceOne. I believe that my hands-on experience on the ground will allow me to add a teaching perspective to our new hires that will greatly benefit the team and their training experience with us.”
